A Christmas thought

'Tis the season to dig deep into those pockets,
Scour for hours over those shopping aisle shelves,
find the perfect piece of plastic or knitwear
that says have a merry Christmas and I care.
Well I should not really be throwing stones,
right now the bank is processing a loan,
So I can enjoy Christmas shopping hell.
In the distant I hear the dull chime of church bell,
and I think where is Jesus among all this.
Some birthday for the man of the hour,
abandoned like the dazzling bike or toy
a week after being opened.
OK I am not super holy, not even
simple holy but it makes think
admits all this festivity and drink
that we have over looked the true purpose
of this holiday called Christmas,
remember regardless of creed or denomination
to be caring and charitable to both stranger and relation.
For in this consumer holiday business
We lose sight of what is important, I must confess
I think they crucified the wrong guy,
For if you see the world through capitalist eyes
then SANTA CLAUS is our saviour.

MERRY CHRISTMAS

Brian my dear,

Please don't ever change you cutie, what a mind you have, unfortunately sometimes it seems like your right, but I think that in the past few years people have been seeing how commercialized things have gotten and are stepping back for a breath of fresh christmas cheer in a more family setting of togetherness, it's easy to get caught up in all of the worldly hoopla but when christmas day comes alot of love fills the air and takes away all of that hell that precedes it.
I am glad to hear you have been at school I wondered what happened to you, and of course missed your poetry, please have a great holiday and I will be looking forword to your poems this next few weeks.

Love, Cerenity

LOL ... somehow I don't think old Saint Nick would have been as amenable as Jesus in the whole crucifixion thing ...
