I guess I was too subtle. Allow me to rephrase: I can see why children would want to build snow men, snow forts, and snow angels, but fail to understand why they would want to build snow shovels.

Nan, the snow pants and snow boots are obviously parts of the snow man (along with the snow shirts and, of course, the very infamous snow tophats). And I ain't even gonna touch snow blower.

Yea, it's pretty bad down this way, too, Kit. I'm not sure how much snow fell (both the road and driveway have been lost), but it was enough to close down just about everything. Schools, of course, most meetings, a lot of factories, even a mall or two. I wonder if that will bump Christmas back a day or two?

My lake beneath a sheath of snow,
Beneath that sheath, hard ice of woe,
And farther yet the fish ensnared,
Their prison like the one I share.

Karen where's the spirit of the blizzard season? Not the same if you don't throw snowballs.

Better hurry before the snow really freezes though, wind chills are -38 today.

So here *throwing snow at you*...building snowman with big hugs and cheery smiles.

Hmmmm... we're finally getting chilly enough to ALMOST forget the suffocating 109 (not accounting for heat index) temps of the summer! LOL

All it's doing here is raining, and blowing a gale, again. I'm sure we have had a couple of days when it hasn't actually rained, but I don't think they were consecutive. And the river has been up and down like, a tarts kn....., I mean like a yoyo. It is cold but when isn't it, but obviously not as cold as it is there.
Have fun in that snow.
And watch out for Frosty
Take care

Sheeesh! Is this ever going to stop?  Wow! We haven't had this much snow for a long time! Sounds like you've been pelted too Ron ... whatever you get, we get it about 2 or 3 hours behind you. I always listen to the Michigan station ... it's a pretty good indicator of what's about to hit us next, lol. Even Sarnia was closed this morning, and the 401 down to Windsor.

More snow coming tomorrow they say ... who ordered all this stuff, and is there a return policy?

You're welcome!!!!  LOL

14.5 inches here in the Lansing, Michigan area. . . schools, malls, etc. closed.

And there was even thunder AND lightning!!

And Ron?  I've got a spot cleared for you so we can build snowmen piece by piece!!!

LOL! Whtdove, you sound a little cranky, see what the cold weather can do to a person?  Better go sit under a sunlamp for awhile!

(Truth though, I don't want to be buried in it, but I do miss the snow!)

LOL Debbie! Me cranky    NEVER! LOL

I do love the snow, when it's snowing (but it has to be warm enough).  It's been way toooooooooo cold to enjoy it. Though we did have a brief moment of 30* weather for a couple hours yesterday, and then they quickly fell back to single digits. Brrrrr...

Hey! I spoke to soon!  Guess what I woke up to in Georgia this morning?
Snow!
Snow!
Snow!
And it is white everywhere! (Of course it will probably melt by the end of the day)

What a lovely gift to me on my birthday!
Yay!

We've got some nasty weather up here in Minnesota... 7 1/2 inches of snow yesterday and the windchills hit -50 last night...BRRRRR!!! And we're supposed to get 4 more inches of snow tomorrow...I wish they'd close school or something...but that never happens, grr.  Oh well...

Krista, they never close your school either? I thought mine was the only one that never closed due to the weather!

Well you can bet they closed everything down in Georgia, and you couldn't find a loaf of bread or gallon of milk anywhere.    LOL

Debbie, that's just what I loved about Georgia! It snowed when I was out there, enough to make it pretty, and then was gone.
Enjoy it while it lasts. LOL

We're headed for another snow storm they say.
Expecting another 1-5 inches today, and another 1-3 inches tonight. And more snow coming this week too. Anyone out there got a snowblower???

I’m up in Ontario Rebecca, where the snowblowers are about as common as lawnmowers, LOL

We really got hit badly with all the snow then a full day of rain “on top of” the snow … and now several more inches of fresh snow on the now solid frozen snow. My husband was out on top of the roof Saturday in the freezing rain … shoveling the roof!!! No kidding!!!

Ah Kit, I feel bad for him. But ya gotta get that snow off the roof. Don't want any cave in's.

Ours is frozen snow too, but we're getting plenty of fresh soft stuff now. Winter storm watches out all over now, expecting more tomorrow, and Thurs too.  Thank God for warm houses.

Snow blowers out here have been sold out of all stores, along with the salt and snow shovels. (that's what I meant by asking)...seems everyone has one but me.
LOL, well at least I have a shovel, it's just a bit rougher that's all.

Yep, Elizabeth, ours is horrible...in the past 5 years, we've closed only 1 time due to weather...and that was because the Governor ordered it...
