What's the best or silliest gift you received for Christmas??.. I'm not talking about Peace and Love and Joy here.. but your actual presents from your loved ones..

I got a CD player... warm jammies... magnetic poetry... a book on Maya Angelou... "The Superior Person's Book of Words"... (that one's funny)... more chocolates than I can eat in a lifetime... and my VERY most favorite of all... a GIRAFFE STOOL..

I'm serious... I absolutely LOVE it..

Well hmm, the silliest thing I got was this old lady witch holding a broom, with a note that says: Kitchen witch "a little behind in my work." (it shows her fanny) LOL

But I got a new keyboard, a sweater, couple of shirts...and the whole family got a foosball table. Turn it over you got a hockey table, and includes bowling, and shuffle board.
And some mugs.

The best gift was seeing my friend's face light up when I installed a 30gig harddrive slaved to her 2gig primary harddrive. 'Lookit all that SPACE! What am I gonna do with all that SPACE?!' I told her two things: Fill it.

The silliest? Well, Pat's kids (the super grinning friend from above) got me a razor. I have, or rather had, a very thick, kinda-sorta groomed, untrimmed beard. I reckon it was a hint. So I tried it out. Left a very smooth shave, but only after the sciccors and disposable razor took out all the tough stuff. Then I got carded for cigarettes.
Way back when it used to upset me...now, well, now I get flattered....

In combining the holiday with some vacation days, I got more time on the computer [that is, when Netscape was working and not jammed up...]

None of my gifts were silly, but all quite lovely and things I would have either gotten for myself or would have thought to give myself: the visit from my children and grandchildren, a lovely Swarovski crystal star, New Explorer Thesaurus, two Romanian crystal torches, two CD's, three books [anyone want to know everything and anything about Shakespeare? Come see me...] an angel figurine, and a new briefcase.

The silliest?

My sister, apparently tired of hearing me complain about cold feet, gave me a pair of slippers for Christmas. Black Cat slippers. With bushy whiskers, dangling paws, and a long fluffy tail on each. I'm not saying they're a little big, but it took two trips with the Miata to get them home. My feet are warm. Very warm. I just wish I could get my feet to stop purring.

i got rocks.
little rocks.
big rocks.

it's true.
very little.
very big.

rocks.

so, that's the last time i post a "bah humbug" in the feelings forum about getting a box of rocks.

i got rocks.

merry christmas.

i came back to explain. the little rocks are decorative thingies that go around some very lovely candles, sitting in a tray, like for the coffee table, a gift given to from my roommate (it's really pretty, really... lol). the big rocks are also some sort of decorative thing... marble-like looking... hehe.... something my daughter picked out... it's hard to explain... she meant well *grin

The most special thing I got this Christmas was a replica of an old time Mantle clock that dings gently (not loudly) on the hour.
My adoptive father bought if for me himself.  That is a real rarity for normally he leaves it all up to Mum.  So I doubly cherish it.
The 2nd great thing was a phone call from a beloved friend (quite unexpected)
I love Christmas...

Um Doreen... You building a rock garden???

Isis - If you set that clock to Passions time, we can all keep better track of you..

and Ron,... I KNEW I liked Fawn as soon as I met her... She's MY kinda lady... hehe... I'm picturing you with those kitties... and well... furry FEET are good things... Did you name them yet?... What are you feeding them? Need a dog too???... Cats like lobster, btw...

Hands down, no question ... my best gift is the videotape we took of the whole family playing "Who Wants to Win Some Christmas Money". I've done a treasure hunt for about 5-6 years now for my 4 nephews and one niece, then did a murder mystery last year, and this year I did a game show based on "Who Wants to be a Millionaire".

My husband was the sound technician with all the bells, whistles, real music from the show all played on que, and yes ... even a flashing blue strobe light!      It lasted for about 45 minutes, and I was the host ... "Kit Filled-in".

All the questions I wrote were family oriented (thanks for that idea Sharon) and they used tons of lifelines and got everyone in the family involved. All the money went into a single pot and we divided it out later ... they were a great team (of course they got increasing $$$ with each question as they got harder but no one got any questions wrong - they never ran out of life-lines)!  We were all in stiches!  They're already asking what I'm doing next year ... ack!!!  It was a riot!

Lets see.  I think that our two ppl got together and got Ron and I the same slippers. I have gotten the coal in the stocking thing. I got a Christmas card from a friend that read all the dirty words that she has wanted to tell me all these years.  I got a banjo and I don't know how to play it.  I play volin. I got a black panther doll that they put bells around the neck and hung from the ceiling. I got some handcuffs, whip cream and one cherry...  Hmmmm..  I had to wonder about that one.  I got a collection of CLOWNS!!!  Now anyone who knows me knows that I'm afraid of clowns... Especially the person who bought all nine of these clowns for me. I had the movie Grease and someone got me Grease II.  These are gifts that I don't think that anyone would want. They were all silly and I love all the people that gave them to me though.
I have to say though that the silliest thing that anyone has done to get a gift to me was wrapping a box the size of Europe, well maybe not that big, and filling it with popcorn (the real stuff and not the packing stuff).  After I pulled out all of this popcorn and places it all over the floor there was no gift in the box.  I had to turn to box over and open it from the other side where wrapped in duck tape was a CD in a secret compartment.  Now that was just plain SILLY!!!!

Love,
Lady

The best gift?

A gold & silver ring from Maree - hehe...blush away Mmy...to me it symbolises our friendship and how distance doesn't matter in the end.

The silliest...ermmm...I didn't get anything silly at all...I got a garfield book - does that count?

I did very well this Christmas season... it was hard to tear myself away from my presents!

I got a DVD player, with my three favorite movies on DVD (Gladiator, Titanic & Braveheart). I also got a VHS tape of rare 98 degrees interviews, backstage footage, and music videos! (I've watched it 10 times already! woo!)

The silliest gifts were key chains! (Like I actually have keys to put on them... right!    )

The best thing I got this year was 2 (count 'em) 2 water fountains and a futon for my home office. I also got some jammies with feet, and my 18 year old son Levi got me a Christmas dinner with all the trimmings. He is currently working for one of catering outfits here and had a complete dinner for all of us cooked and delivered by the chef. I was so tickled with that cuz it meant I didn't have to cook and it was delicious!! It was a great Christmas Day!!

My best gift?  An emerald ring from my boyfriend, Abrahm (our very own Dusk Treader)...something that actually surprised me!   He's a sweetheart...my silliest gift you ask?  Well, I'd have to say the bear that my best friend made for me at the Teddy Bear Factory..it's dressed up like a superhero and has a reversable cape and mask, rotf...hehehe.
