Okay. . . now it's time to move onto a different topic. . .

Give me your 5-10 (yes, 5-10) favorite love songs. . .

Annie's Song--John Denver
I'll Be. . . --Edwin McCain
Open Arms--Journey
To Make You Feel My Love--Originally Bob Dylan, but the one by Garth Brooks for Hope Floats is better IMO
The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face--Roberta Flack

There are more. . . just can't remember then right now!!  LOL

Ok. . . let's hear yours!!!

#1. An acappella by Westlife "Flying without wings"
Everybody's looking for that something
One thing that makes it all complete
You'll find it in the strangest places
Places you never knew it could be
Some find it in the face of their children
Some find it in their lover's eyes
Who can deny the joy it brings
When you've found that special thing
You're flying without wings
Some find it each and every morning
Some in their solitary lives
You'll find it in the words of others
A simple line can make you laugh or cry
You'll find it in the deepest friendship
The kind you cherish all your life
And when you know how much that means
You've found that special thing
You're flying without wings
So, impossible as it may seem
You've got to fight for every dream
Cos who's to know which one you let go
Would have made you complete
Well, for me it's waking up beside you
To watch the sunrise on your face
To know that I can say I love you
In any given time or place
It's little things that only I know
Those are the things that make you mine
And it's like flying without wings
Cos you're my special thing
I'm flying without wings
And you're the place my life begins
And you'll be where it ends
#2. Sting "You were meant for me"
#3. Marc Anthony "My Baby You"
#4. Donna Lewis "Love you always and forever"
#5. Jessica Simpson "Where you are"

Okay - so I don't have a favorite romantic movie, and I only have two favorite romantic songs.  I can deal with this.  Just call me the resident romance flunkie.

My fav bands are very cryptic....so these songs are about love.....but you'd have to really hear the lyrics and delve within the meaning.

1. Galapogos- Smashing Pumpkins
2. Fake Plastic Trees- Radiohead
3. Beautiful- Smashing Pumpkins
4. Cupid de locke- Smashing Pumpkins
5. Where did you sleep last night- Nirvana

Yep yep.....

I was born myself, raised myself, and will continue to be myself. The world will just have to adjust.

I'm in love with my shadow
I admire it daily

Coco. . . that song by Westlife is one of my new favorites!!!  I love it. . . I even wrote a couple of poems inspired by it!!

Nicole. . . you're not a flunkie. . . and Time in a Bottle has to be one of the all-time greatest love songs ever. . . did you know that Jim Croce actually wrote that song just before the birth of his son??  It's a wonderful song, and thanks for mentioning it here. . .  . . . and see??  That third one means that you're getting there. . .

Phaerie Child. . . Truly, Madly, Deeply. . . but not I Knew I Loved You???

What about Luther Vandross??  Barry White??  (how can you have a list of Romantic Songs without him??)

Back at One---Brian McKnight (there's also a country version by Mark Wills)

Please don't limit yourself to Popular Songs. . . include anything. . . jazz. . .classical. . .

Gymnopodeie No.3--Erik Satie. . . this is a wonderfully delicate piece for piano. . .

La Traviata--Giuseppe Verdi. . . one of the greatest operas ever written. . . and while we're talking opera, let's not forget La Boheme. . . *sigh*. . . the one, the only. . . it paved the way for "realism" in opera. . . and was part of the inspiration for Rent

These are great. . . more!!!

Sven
I Knew I Loved You is great song but Truly Madly Deeply came at a point in our marriage when all we had was each other and nothing else. We were jobless, almost homeless, everything was gone and it was just us. Mountains and sea bathing would have been okay for me lol. It is, to this day, a very special song for us.

Let's not forget one of the best love songs that came out last year

Amazed by Lonestar

I hate country, but this is a pretty cool song

So long as men can breathe or eyes can see,
So long lives this, and this give life to thee." W.S.
