You pull the bit of paper at the end????

You are more likely to pull the whole roll if it is in front!!!

When you have enough you stop pulling!

OH MY GOD!!! It won't stop!! It's like a machine or something! HELP!

HELP. HELP!!! It's the attack of the killer toilet paper! I'm glad it's not a double roll!!!

Kidding, folks ... personally I don't care HOW it gets put on the darn thing as long as it gets put on -- and not left on the counter to soak up any stray water from the sink!

Nan what happens when it's on the wall behind you? And you can't reach it with your elbow?

You know after the last one we had here, I have a hard time remembering what way I had it. Funny to say, I think about that sometimes. (of course when you're sitting there with nothing else to do)

For now it's on the TOP!

Please...surely we have all suffered the agony of defeat...when, in our haste, we realize that the next roll of toilet paper is in the closet? those grossly agonizing two steps away...Or??? EVEN WORSE? THE desolation of realization that NOT ONLY was the new roll not put on the roller? but also? was sopping wet from god knows what "kid adventure?" arrrggghhh....

ALSO: A Point of Interest:

I once read an interview with Steven Speilburg's MOM....wherein she stated that she had a bath nicely decorated in Sea Green and bought toilet paper to match...until? she realized that she could not keep green toilet paper, as "little stevie" kept making toilet paper monsters from the green stuff...
methinks he's repaid the green stuff by now...

but, after that I'd still like to wipe

so, my vote is you roll it from the

I'd have to say behind, for a couple of reasons...one, that's just always the way we've done it while I was growing up...two, don't 'cha think it's a bit disorienting when it's in the front?? Anywho...that's my vote...BEHIND...once again, thank you for this refreshing and ever-so-important discussion!! I love it!!

I prefer to just unroll the whole roll of toilet paper......seperate each individual piece and stack them up. That way I don't have to worry about front or back......

While being in the minority does not make me wrong these are the results of a survey I found at http://www.toiletpaperworld.com/tpw/encyclopedia/navigation/surveys.htm along with lots of other information on the subject of TP and other paper related issues.

68% like to hang toilet paper with the first sheet going over the roll, while 25% prefer to hang the first sheet under the roll.

ps..also found this... ( i ain't gonna try it...lol)

Unrolling Toilet Paper

There's more than one way to get toilet paper off the roll.

Materials:
roll of toilet paper
leaf blower
dowel rod, about two feet long

Instructions:

Thread the dowel rod through the toilet paper roll. Unroll about two feet of toilet paper, letting it hang down.

Have one person hold the dowel horizontally, with the hanging paper facing away from the leaf blower.

A second person should hold the leaf blower. Turn on the leaf blower, directing the stream of air just over the top surface of the roll. What happens?

When the leaf blower is turned on, what happens to the pressure above the roll of toilet paper?

Why does the paper unroll?

This is the reply i received from an email inquiry on the subject ........

Thank you for your issue.

Many hotels install the toilet paper to pay out from over the top in
order to make a nice pointed triangle on the end sheet. This points out to
the user that someone cleaned the bathroom and paid attention to the 'finer'
details. However, others feel that in a public facility it is best to
install to pay out from underneath. In this way the dispensing and tearing
is more controlled and therefore less people will touch the roll of paper,
therefore less cross contamination. Also, keeping the paper closer to the
wall by dispensing from underneath provides a 'cleaner less intrusive'
environment, especially in close quarters. Some dispensers have a top cover
that helps the user pull and tear the paper. In this case the roll should be
dispensed from the top allowing the user to 'pull up' on the paper an tear
it easily. So, it depends on the dispenser, the location and the facility.
However, the simple concern about the installation of the roll may have a
deeper meaning and may be indicative of a different issue in the personality
of the user. This question remains one of the most frequently asked.

I hope this helps. Feel free to call again.
