This is something that I posted first in Feelings. . .but, I'd like to have a new discussion about it. . .

I've always believed that to really love others, you have to love yourself first.  That being said. . .

WHAT IS THERE ABOUT YOU FOR SOMEONE TO LOVE?

Really look inside yourselves and tell me what there is about you that someone should love.  Is it your sense of humor?  The way that you make cookies?  Your way with kids?  What is it?

For me, there's a lot of things. . . my sense of humour, my outgoing personality. . . and for some, it's my smile. . .

There. . . I've said mine. . . what about you??

Trust and Lust

Hmmm - there's a poem there...

Waft every crest upon your destined sea.
Embrace the Wave of Serendipity,
Lest its elusive arcane ecstasy
Refurl with sail for all eternity.

Oh now this is interesting...Hmmmmm...Why should someone love me......

I share PMS quite willingly?

I bake sinfully rich chocolate chip cookies

And I'm extremely feminine.

Oh, and I balance that out with deer hunting.

Hmm..
My loyalty to my friends and the willingness to stand beside them (not behind them unless they ask) in even the strangest of times.

My understanding of things that go beyond my age.

My wish to really know who people are to a depth that scares even me sometimes.

My honesty (and no...here I don't mean complete, because I don't believe anyone is completely and utterly always honest..for if you lie even to yourself, then you are dishonest)

My passion, my intensity, my ability to go between shy and bold at any given time, my need to explore and dust every crevice of life that I possibly can, my restless meandering moments where I'm fluctuating between pain and love, my lessons learned, my faults, my faith in the human race no matter what kind of garbage is out there..WHEW!! I think I need to take a break. LOL! This has been great, Sleepy...err... Sven Pen. Thanks for making me think.

Nan, very interesting. . . and if there's a poem there. . . I can't wait to see it!!

Allan, well. . . we already know that you have those. . . why not give us something that isn't so noticeable and doesn't clash with things on my list!!  LOL

Just a Woman. . . okay. . . an extremely feminine woman who likes to hunt deer. . . hmmmmm. . . does that mean your hunter orange doesn't clash with your rifle???  LOL

Irie, I've always known that you were a giver. . . but. . . what else???  I know that there's more there. . .

Temptress, that's some list!!!  It would seem that you know yourself very well!!!

Sven,

I balance out the "hunter orange" with personal intimate accessories.  How else would I attract the bucks?  *innocent smile*

Sven, what a question! Makes you think hard about yourself.
What is there to love about me??

I love to laugh and make others laugh.
I am a gentle person...but I can be a spitfire when provoked.
I am a loyal friend or lover. Once I give my love, it's unconditional and you can't get rid of me.

Gosh...if no one loves me right now, does that mean there is NOTHING to love about me? I would like to be loved for the following:

my sense of humor
my wicked ribaldness
my compassion
my passion
my sense of fashion
(my ability to rhyme at the drop of a hat)
my independence
my ability to give magnificent massages
my tolerance of all things/people/situations

lastly, my 10 million dollars locked away in a vault in Switzerland!

OK Sven, to answer your "More".....

Here are a few "more" things that I have been told that people like about me.

I'm told that I am well balanced.
I'm caring and sweet yet I
stand my ground and won't put up with anyone's poopoo....
I have a well rounded sense of humor....
fun and out going and am
willing to try almost anything.

OK, is that what you were looking for, or did I miss it again?

Goodness... This is a hard one for someone with low self esteem, but I've had a bad day, and I guess could use the boost

Umm...
I guess my red hair is something people like about me.  My intelligence, my musical ability, my ability to really connect with others... my openness, my humor.. hmm.. I'll come back if I think of anymore
Well, this really is an emotional boost!

Gosh, this is a hard one, especally for a teenage girl! I won't add to the disruption of this thread by saying I can't think of anything, though. I really like my eyes, although I have to get colored contacts to make them the color I want them to be (blue!).

Sharon and Acire, don't you even talk like that!!!! Next time I get on ICQ, I'm going to send you huge lists about what I love about you two!

let's see.....

what you see is what you get.....I'm not fake...

I've been told I'm an old shoe ( and told that was a good thing so....ok)

I love intensely....completely

I'll make you laugh

I stick up for my friends

I'm feisty

I bake wonderful goodies

I'll make you feel comfortable

I don't know really.....I guess that's about it.   SEA

You know..I was just reading this, and looking at all the ones who said they can't think of anything. I don't believe it. I'm not trying to be sarcastic here. I'm just saying it is hard to believe that no one has any quality physical or mental that they take pride in themselves over.  I think we all have it there, but sometimes we are afraid to admit our good qualities because it almost seems too much like arrogance or bragging on ourselves. I know I used to think that, and sometimes still do. I'm often reluctant to state a good thing about myself without someone pointing it out first, because..like I said..for fear of sounding full of myself. I guess its a confidence thing, and some people think confidence equals arrogance.   Geesh..am I repeating myself over and over again? It feels like it! LOL!  SOOO!! What I'm saying is COME ON EVERYONE! I just KNOW there is something about yourself that you LOVE and CHERISH. My stubborn sense of hope will not let me believe (even about teenagers) that there is nothing to love about yourselves. DARE to be honest with yourself and reach deep for that thing you've always prided yourself on no matter what it might be. And if you reach deep, and you find something (and you WILL) you don't even have to put it here; but you will have a sense of self awareness that is an excellent confidence booster. So, reach in and be totally honest.

Good points Temptress. . . and yes, it is hard for some people to really think that there's anything about them that someone would love. . . for lots of reasons. . .

Low self-esteem
The fact that no one has ever loved them (or at least, no one in their estimation has loved them)
They've just come out of a bad relationship and wonder if the person that they were with really meant the things that they said that they loved about them
Lack of confidence in their abilities

The list could go on and on. . .

You'll notice that I didn't say, "What do your friends tell you there is to love about you?". . . but "What is there about you to love?"

And yes, it does take honesty and the ability to look in the mirror and say, "Hey, I'm pretty good!!  I'm smart, I'm funny, I'm _____________. . . "

So, like Temptress said, take a good look at yourselves, and dig deep. . . and most of all. . . be honest. . .

Quite the question.
Actually a little hard- cause I have to have some sort of confidence to answer this one- which I don't. But I like a challenge. =)

Lets see- whats to love about me? Anyone else want to answer for me? HaHa.( You can lie if you want...since none of you know me..*wink*) this would be so much easier if I could list things that would make people NOT love me...Someone make a topic for that!
Moving on...

I think I'm a nice person.

Easy on the eyes- Hopefully... Unless people are just huge liars all the time. =(

Sarcastic.

I have a huge sense of humor- I love joking and kidding and playing.

I'm trustworthy.

I am always there when needed for emotional support.

My smile.

My voice...for some reason-people like my voice- Not sure as to why...but they do.
My luck, I sound like a munchkin or something.

Thats all I can think of at the moment.
BUT- I will keep this on my mind and try to figure out WHAT it is people love about me.
