Ok..right now, at this time in your life, what song would you choose as your life's theme song?

There's this brand new song by a group called Lifehouse, the song is called "Hanging by a Moment"

desperate for changing
starving for truth
I'm closer to where I started
I'm chasing after you
I'm falling even more in love with you
letting go of all I've held on to
I'm standing here until you make me move
I'm hanging by a moment here with you
forgetting all I'm lacking
completely incomplete
I'll take your invitation
you take all of me

please note this is a quote from an artists song...not MY work.....but this is definitely my theme song atm!
~H

"Climb every mountain
Ford every stream
Follow every rainbow
Till you find your dream"....

...is that perhaps paraphrased below?....

Waft every crest upon your destined sea.
Embrace the Wave of Serendipity,
Lest its elusive arcane ecstasy
Refurl with sail for all eternity.

i don't really know, but is there a song about "loosers"

that's prbably the best for me right now

So long as men can breathe or eyes can see,
So long lives this, and this give life to thee." W.S.

~WD,...I first posted the lyrics to Bob Dylan's - A Hard Rain's A-Gonna Fall because I thought the words to be so totally worth reading, but I always second guess what my words or thoughts are going to sound like to others, and I never want to start any type of controversy?. So,...I deleted it. But yeah, I love that song and find soOo many things in it that just curl themselves around me and constrict. It's one of those songs that weigh you down and strangle you with truth and it's sort of a political song and I don't know what I'm talking about or all the angles so I'll shut up now. *Peace and thanks for the no wasting space.

I keep on hearing about that band....lifehouse.......geesh i need to hear them. Anyway MY theme song right now would have to be Galapogos by the smashing pumpkins.....

I won't deny the pain
I won't deny the change
And should I fall from grace
here with you....
Would you leave me too?
Would you leave me too?

I was born myself, raised myself, and will continue to be myself. The world will just have to adjust.

I'm in love with my shadow
I admire it daily

My Life song would have to be a song by Big Tent Revival called the "Faith of a Little Seed".

All it takes is a little bit of water and sunshine,
To make a big tree grow.
And every tree was a little bitty seed at one time,
It just takes time you know.

Chorus
Patiently, they wait in hope,
And God provides the rest.
All we really need,
Is the faith of a little seed.

I never ever saw a bird go hungry,
Singin' in the breeze.
And flowers, never was a lady on Sunday
Prettier than these.

Chorus:

Though I'm sown in rocky places,
There I will abide.
Taking root in My Lord Jesus
Knowin' He'll provide.

Chorus.

Just a little faith and God provides the rest. I have come to rely on that and even when things get crappy, I just try to remember where all good things come from and act accordingly.

acire-the beatles had a song way back when in 62-ish called "i'm a looser" the lyrics are in part "i'm a looser and i'm not what i appear to be"....and i could be wrong, but i REALLY don't think you're a looser.

greeneyes- (yes i'm playing official song suggester here) check out one of my personal favorite 'power to me!!/sock it to 'em' songs by sinead o'conner called red football...or if more suitable try ani difranco's "not a pretty girl" which is also a good 'let 'em have it song'. heehee

my personal theme song at the moment is by an old 60's irish group called Pentangle, the name of the song is Sad Lady and trés beautiful....but i predict tomorrow i will be singing "going up the country" by canned heat =] okay so i'm moody

Spitfire I had to look up the lyrics to that one, but I see what you mean. This world does seem like that to me too sometimes.

It's about war, in which I guess we war against many things now-a-days.

Take heart, and try to look on the bright side. (I know I hate it when people say that)
But we can get so down when we don't look at our blessings often enough.

It's a good tune!

Hmm... interesting question. I think that my theme song is "All or nothing (Live your dreams)" by Athena Cage. ("Save the last dance soundtrack")...
well, I WISH I always thought this way!

It's the chance of life, get ready, set, fly high.
But the fear of your mind, go for it.
It's hit or miss, too late for you to quit.
You gotta show 'em how bad you really want this, so...

(Chorus)
Live your dream, it's not as hard as it may seem.
You gotta work together, dream, on hopes that you will seem,
From your fears, you have to win yourself.
It's all or nothing, if you're everything...

Are what you believe, you got to bring the dreams.
Set the pace, competitions take the lead.
This is it, all eyes on you.
So stay on point and prove,
that you deserve whats long overdue.

(Chorus)

The hardest to recovery,
From the heartache of another kind,
I'm still drying my tears.
Getting over my own fears in my life.
So I wanna make sure this time that I'm strong enough,
To give it my all...

(Chrous x 3)

So you gotta live your dreams,
So don't you be afraid.
Just set the pace, and take the lead,
It's your time to shine.

LaST?!?? - Its My Life by Dido "What I choose to do is of no concern to you and your friends Where I lay my hat may not be my home, but I will last on my own 'Cause it's me, and my life it's my life. The Amen Corner, by Opeth

White summer.
So far I have gone to see you again.
Hiding your face in the palm of your hands.
Finding solace in the words I do despise.
You snatch at every sound.
And even though you believe that I am shackled within death,
memories are tainted with paleness.
Crestfallen still.
Those eyes... empty like a barren well.
It was the only task I would undertake.
To reap the harvest that was mine.
The seed that had sprung into a florid meadow,
and left me helpless in your embrace.
The bond we never spoke of, once stark and enticing,
now slowly smoldering to dust.
The celestial touch, from grey to black.
A fathomless void enclosing.
Unwritten secrets beneath the cobwebs.
I can not endure. And so I rose from my sleep.
The moon turned away its face.
Overture of the long, black night begins...
something you said: "Eerie circles upon the waters".
Until now we have shared the same aura.
My ashes within your hands.
My breath in the sepulchral mound.
You know that your night is my day.
The final spark that blew life into me,
the DEMON OF THE FALL.

Demon of the Fall by Opeth

Silent dance with death.
Everything is lost.
Torn by the arrival of Autumn.
The blink of an eye, you know it's me.
You keep the dagger close at hand.
And you saw nothing.
False love turned to pure hate.
The wind cried a lamentation
before merging with the grey.
Demon of the fall.
Gasping for another breath.
She rose, screaming at closed doors.
Seductive faint mist forging
through the cracks in the wall.
I shant resist.
In tears for all of eternity.
She turned around and faced me for the first time.

Run away, run away.
Just one second, and I was left with nothing.
Her fragrance still pulsating through damp air.
That day came to an end.
And she had lost in me, her CREDENCE.

Credence by Opeth

Deserted again.
You speak to me through the shadows.
Walking in closed rooms, using cold words.
Captured by the night.
The yearning escapes from my embrace.
Strange silhouettes whisper your thoughts, scream your sadness.
And they all turned away, unable to face more of this death.

Credence in my word.
Written in dust, tainted by memories.
I confess my hope, recognize my loneliness.
Your laughter weeps the truth.
Push me into corners.
Confirming the epitaph of my soul
and displaying the once unknown KARMA.

Karma by Opeth

And as they say, grief is only able to possess.
The rotting body clad in ancient clothes
is left behind with a wave of the hand.

I have gone away. The bed is cold and empty.
Trees bend their boughs toward the earth.
And nighttime birds float as black faces.
It was the hand reaching out through the mirror.
Unknown and scarred by life...
the luring eyes, you had never seen.

You have nothing more to find.
You have nothing more to lose.

The cold season drifts over the land.
They huddle in the brown corners.
Some would settle for less.
The castles were all empty, asleep.
Long awaiting their king.
Beckoning round the bend.
Amidst the forest one would hear that I had been there.
Draped within a fate I could not change,
and always welcoming Winter's EPILOGUE.

There it was.
The final destiny.
A sunrise that never came,
still the night lamp that never faded away.
Farewell was the word,
and the afterglow was the brave morning.
Rising and telling everyone

this stupid song by this one band that was popular in like 1994, one of the hurried flood of alternative-popish boy bands, or maybe, maybe it was another group...

but the song was so cheesy and sad and sappy and had the lyrics "how can you miss something you never had" about this guy missing a girl he hung out with, and now she's leaving for wherever and he's so "blue" (yes, they actually USE that term) because she's leaving...

been searching for days and still can't find the damn thing...

so, yeah: stupid and cliché and absorbedly sad, but understandably so...(and that was really a minimizing statement to a wide variety of things, but I have a headache and I don't want to freakin' get into it)

(and, if by some weird miracle somebody actually recognizes the song I'm talking about... please let me know so I can stop wasting my time on google lol)

Prologue by Opeth

A morning in magenta, the petals fed from the dew.
She held her breath for a moment, to pause off the stream.
Still clinging to vast, old memories.
And I would marvel at her beauty, playing through the rain.
The coffin is beautifully engraved.
Stained by soil, symbols of death.
All of which are stared upon, with porcelain eyes it seems.
Some spoke, and it was my turn to go.
In death entwined, I could not believe.
But it hangs around my neck.
A soft breeze passed me by, somewhat warmer for a second.
I knew it was the coming of spring, thus our APRIL ETHEREAL.

April Ethereal by Opeth

It was me, peering through the looking-glass.
Beyond the embrace of Christ.
Like the secret face within the tapestry.
Like a bird of prey over the crest.
And she was swathed in sorrow, as if born within its mask.
Her candlelight snuffed, the icon smiled.
Emptiness followed by her wake.
I could clasp her in undying love.
Within ghostlike rapture the final word was mine.
She faced me in awe. 'twas a token of ebony colour.
Embodied in faint vapour.
Wandering through April's fire.
Compelled to grasp and to hold the one that was you.
I will endure, hide away.
I would outrun the scythe, glaring with failure.
It is a mere destiny I thought, a threshold I had crossed before.
The rain was waving goodbye, and when the night came
the forest folded its branches around me.
Something passed by, and I went into a dream.
She laughing and weeping at once: "take me away".
I don't know how or why, I'll never know WHEN.

When by Opeth

Red sun rising somewhere through the dense fog.
The portrait of the jaded dawn who had seen it all before.
This day wept on my shoulders.
Still the same as yesterday.
This path seems endless, body is numb.
The soul has lost its flame.
Walking in familiar traces to find my way back home.

So there I was.
Within the sobriety of the immortals.
A semblance of supernatural winds passing through.
The garden sighs, flowers die.
The gate was closed that day, but I was bound to carry on.
She could not see me through the windows.
In dismay, strangest twist upon her lips.
Graven face, she said my name.

Once inside I heard whispers in the parlour.
The gilded faces grin, aware of my final demise.
And I cried, I knew she had lied.
Her obsession had died, it had died.
When can I take you from this place?
When is the word but a sigh?
When is death our lone beholder?
When do we walk the final steps?
When can we scream instead of whisper?
When is the new beginning,
the end of this sad MADRIGAL.

I have no idea who sings it, but it's a country song... "but tomorrow's another day, and I'm thirsty anyway, so bring on the rain."

Madrigal by Opeth

Our abode 'mongst the stars is waiting,
long enough for our last breath of life.
You stare at nothing, right through me,
at times resembling the Devil's concubine.
And me, I am the idol that would long
to caress our eyes until they would open no more.
I would comfort you if I only could,
but as we all know by now... I am just thin air.
Unaware as you are of my presence,
you are losing yourself.
Hiding within THE AMEN CORNER.

Thus completes the cycle of My Arms, Your Hearse by Opeth, thanks for reading.

Today, it's the demo-only song from around '81, Jim Steinman's A Kiss is a Terrible Thing to Waste as performed by Rory Dodd. Yummy.

"If only I could lose this hunger. If only it didn't mean so much. If only I had done things different. If only I had done the same... ... And if only are the loneliest words you'll ever know."

So quit yr regrets!

Goodbye to You--Michelle Branch.

Complicated--Avril Lavigne.

Try Not to be Afraid--Jim Steinman/Andrew Lloyd Webber. (Do you happen to know this one, Anvrill?)

Never Let you Go--3rd eye blind.

LOL, these all seem to fit my life so well right now, I've been listening to them a lot lately. Love 'em too.

I feel there is this song that fits perfectly to my state of everthing these days

Gone fishing by Chris Rea

and the lyrics go like this:

I'm gone fishing
I got me a line
Nothing I do is gonna make the difference
So I'm taking the time

And you ain't never gonna be happy
Anyhow, anyway
So I'm gone fishing
And I'm going today

I'm gone fishing
Sounds crazy I know
I know nothing about fishing
But just watch me go

And when my time has come
I will look back and see
Peace on the shoreline
That could have been me

You can waste a whole lifetime
Trying to be
What you think is expected of you
But you'll never be free

May as well go fishing

Give me more credit than that, Skyshine! I was obsessed with Andrew Lloyd Webber from my tenth birthday on, and with Jim Steinman from about my 11th on!

Of course I know Try Not to Be Afraid. Track 2, second disc, London cast Whistle Down the Wind. Which is followed by the different version of A Kiss is a Terrible thing to waste. The song that is proof that Lloyd Webber more than emulated Steinman for this musical, he ripped him. Grr. But it was a demo that he ripped, so is that actually ripping?

Yeesh, my head is spinning.

But since Steinman did the lyrics, he must've okayed any ripping, right?

Augh, my head's spinning more!

I'll shut up now.

Oh, and contribute a quote to the theme song idea.

"Those good girls never know what they're missing, but us bad girls almost always do!"

From Tire Tracks and Broken Hearts, from (of course) Lloyd Webber and Steinman's Whistle Down the Wind. I'm just in that kinda mood today.

Is this what you wanted me to be?

All you Wanted--Michelle Branch. How could I forget that one? It's been my song since the first time I heard it practically!

I love the music from Whistle down the Wind. Don't have the full soundtrack though, just one CD with a few songs on it, called "Songs from Whistle down the Wind." The version of Try Not to be Afraid that I know is by Boy George. I'll have to get the soundtrack 'cause I really like what I've heard so far.

Theme song quote...hmm...I'll get back to you guys on that one. There's so many to choose from that I can't pick one out just yet!

Oh, that comp! With Michael Ball doing Unsettled Scores. *melt*

Mm, Michael Ball...

Anyway.

My theme song today is Push. Just saw an old friend for the first time in over two months, and we got to talking a lot about the old days and how things worked out (and how important I apparently was to a group that no longer exists), and it got me thinking about the last great days of the group... And the moment of fall-apart and fumbling attempts to make things right.

"Push just a little too late."

Yuppers, Moist is the only thing in my CD player right now.

Is this what you wanted me to be?

Hurt - NIN

"I hurt myself today
To see if I still feel
I focus on the pain
The only thing that's real
The needle tears a hole
The old familiar sting
Try to kill it all away
But I remember everything

What have I become?
My sweetest friend
Everyone I know
Goes away in the end
You could have it all
My empire of dirt
I will let you down
I will make you hurt

I wear this crown of [edit]
Upon my liar's chair
Full of broken thoughts
I cannot repair
Beneath the stain of time
The feeling disappears
You are someone else
I am still right here

What have I become?
My sweetest friend
Everyone I know
Goes away in the end
You could have it all
My empire or dirt
I will let you down
I will make you hurt

If I could start again
A million miles away
I would keep myself
I would find a way"

The end isn't hopeful.... "If" destroys hope, "if" negates the possibility. "If" means it's not gonna happen.

My theme song today is Leave it Alone. Broken hearted, agonized, torn apart and trying to reconstruct.

....It happened today. She's gone.
