I picked a flower on the hill
knew it wasn't a daffodil ;
but when I pressed it to my nose
I knew for sure it was a rose


This is a flower Drac missed.

Btw, while I’m here , sometime back, I believe it was Nan that put a what-you-may-call-it on here about a metaphor and a simile. I think it ended “ A simile is easy as pie “ Does anybody remember how it goes ?

I tried to use it, from memory, the other day and I sounded like a George Bush speech .

Ah...a quick search revealed this:

Writing a simile is as easy as pie..
but
Writing a metaphor is a piece of cake..!!
