Would I rather be deaf
or would I rather be blind?
Would I rather see the end
or hear a goodbye?

Would I rather have no arms
or would I rather have no legs?
Would I rather push you out of my life
or would I rather chase you away?

Is it easier to lose someone
to the heartache of love?
Or is it easier to lose someone
to the man up above?

I did my homework,
studied hard and studied long,
but I failed this test,
for all my answers were wrong.

Delrayhc, I guess your poem proves the theorem “ Study long study wrong”

This will be your first "poem" because you started thinking about the form, the pace, the stanza and the rhyme.

Tell me how the last S is related to other three?

Write more!

TomM  Since my last poems that I posted I received help from you and others regarding editing and reading the works of classic and modern poets. To be honest I didnt really think about the form , ryme , pace ect. I layed down to go to bed last night and it popped into my head I then got up wrote it then went back to bed. I think reading poetry on this site and what was recommended to me has began to rub of on me a bit. As far as the last part of the poem and its relation to the other 3 parts. I was asking myself questions therefore I gave myself a test. Even though I studied and thought about those questions I failed the test because to me whatever  answers I had for the questions were wrong. Hope this makes sense to you.

I understand what you said and your emotion. About the poem, If you did not mention that life is a lesson so why end with a failed test?

Its not so much about a lesson , its that I can think about these questions for my the rest of my life, but my answer to these questions will never be right. So for me I will never have a right answer to these questions.

Dear delrayhc, I read the feeling in this poem. I is merely talking about the words choosing.
