This one's a bit more prosy then I usually write - not sure if it really qualifies as poetry, but some that I showed it to really liked it - tell me what you think.


Valhalla is fallen, the ancient bloody ones prostrate beneath
The Heel that was wounded. The shield-thanes of Odin
Tremble at the Great One who rises from the east
Thousands of the holy ones at his beck. Who is this
Wounded and yet triumphant king. The meek-miened
Lord of all bears on his brow, a chaplet of the thorn hedge
Crowned lord of the earth, like lizards they scamper
Off into the dry cracks, cringing at the gentle eyes
Of Christ.

i dig...'cringing at the gentle eyes
of christ' is very strong.  it passes my poemometer...
