Snide?  Me be not snide!  Me be straightforward disillusioned old duff!  Glad you got it, though.  

For the most part, I work with epigrams.  Some rhyme, some don't. It's a somewhat odd but ancient sport, sometimes dismissed as "light verse."  I didn't understand the craft and beauty of J. V. Cunningham until I was like, 50.

if there is some inferred meaning, it escapes me...but i think i also 'get it'.  you make me want to research jv cunningham, though.  where can i find samples (i know, at the library...)?

Hi minus. There is no "inferred meaning" in these two lines.  The "meaning" couldn't be more explicit.  Now, you might reasonably consider whether the image works or not. Did it get your attention?  

I wouldn't be tempted to write a thesis on it, either.
