A Critic's Oath

Some sprights and dainty fairies choose
But I Thor's Hammer take to Muse:
For all this force must well befriend,
and as this Judge I shall amend!

Doomcraft's deeds must be dealt to place
art back in thew and orb of grace,
Whatso the toil, whatso the trend;
and as this Judge I shall amend!

( feel free to add a stanza of your own if you will   )

To ferret out flaw so apt concealed
Expose to air and be conjealed
The creative blood in the vain
And make it seem the point in main

For art thou but the wind's reveal
as hammer throws wilt not conceal.
And from the strike on weathered stone
critic's words are not wrought alone.

Muse so cruel
no inspiration to tool
groping for words not found
dreams to fly, stay to ground

I wish all could find the true happiness I have found,,in the eyes of Mike

As God’s anointed, make you see
Your verse is nothing without me
to help you punctuate and spell—
thus, save your souls from poetry hell.

Begone ye gods, the devil sayeth,
As mortal words with vengence slayeth,
With forked tongue thee sought fair muse,
Into thy ignorance, my brilliance infuse.

How long before the words I teach
replace your worthless goals and reach
to lift you from the meager class—
or, must I kick your !@#$%! (booty)?

And from the demon dragon's scale
of forked tongue and dragging tail
a poet's wail shall bring to birth
a newborn verse now fresh, not stale.

And yet dismembered is banner
Of blue for prankbites of manner.
So passion-friend is deemed undeep;
So I will not work with this heap.

May God's divine flash light your eyes
To brighter heaven through the skies.
Friends do not ban friends out of spite
But take long as they take to right.

And if right be all writ in verse,
I take my friends by their own curse;
for I in free-est verse shall stand,
yet learn among the learned hands...

for I would not among you say
that all is but just one way;
I hold you all so dear to heart!
and I, a mere poet, shall not part

nor divide my soul among this ken
who woulds't amuse, by poet's pen
no, I shall hold you all to bear
the standard of a poet, rare.

My give to you might be too long...
but my heart? my friends, is yet too strong
to see division of what is best...
for we've not Shakespeare himself to wrest.

May I admire all that you try?
May I laugh, and find the cry
in how your words strike deep my heart?
for I, a mere poet, shall not depart.

Pete,

I'm sorry to interrupt.
But I need to say I was refferring to Rob in my "verse" right above Sunshine's.
We haven't heard anything him.
Toad has been gone too.  Did he get banned as well?
I don't wish to argue about anything; only wondering if we may know what is going on.
Hope that is ok.

Thanks
Essorant

Toad was not banned. If you followed all the events you may have figured out that he changes his name regularly. I suspect he is still around although I don't know his current name. I do hope we hear from him soon. Toad has always been a valued member and I am confident he will continue to be.

Rob, in his original incarnation, was also a highly valued and contributing member. Sadly, I cannot say the same for his most recent appearances.

I hope Toad comes back soon as well.   And that Rob is allowed to post again.

Only Spite deserves to be banished.
