"The world is mine!", Columbus said,
and disembarked to shore.
"There's treasure to be had out there;
I'll plunder and explore."

He occupied and siezed the land,
then claimed it for the queen.
He conquered both the soil and sea
and owned what he could glean.

"I'll sail inside", Carl Jung replied,
and closed his eyes to see
the deep and fertile ocean of
his own humility.

"I've travelled my unconscious and
I fear that you're remiss;
the treasues we've inherited,
for we belong to this!"

Poetry is the sculpting of words. We ALL start with a lump of clay.

I was sailing right along reading this until I hit line 13. The meter is all botched up there and nearly sunk me. (puns intended)
