She's hungry,
empty skin is barren
of touch, of warmth;
the pangs cause cries
which go unheeded.
She fears that soon,
without his arms
around her,
she will starve;
deprived of sustenance,
she will just
wither away.

It is enlightenment to know one's self" - Lao Tzu

if getting older had a theme poem, this would be it. Very well written, and easily taken to heart.

Thank you, Ian, for reading and for your comments. I'm not sure how you equate this with getting older...it could happen in any relationship of people of any age, if the circumstances were there.
