Bee stings –
Feel the pinch,
nerves twitch as
memory pierces skin

Pluck the stinger
buried in layers,
reach for the band aid  
as you lick the wound

Beneath gauze blankets,
pretend you don’t feel --
that your muscles don’t ache
from resisting the urge
to swat the swarm

Faithfully,
you sit by the hive --
dripping salt from your wounds
and honey from your lips

Every new beginning comes from some other beginning's end...

Haha, yeah it definitely could represent an unhappy relationship/marriage.  I actually wrote this about a friend I've known since childhood.  Glad you enjoyed the poem, thanks for the feedback!
