---------------
New Green
5/26/03

Vibrant green
leaves escape from tall
dark prisons

Through Winter’s slumber
they slept under heavy arms;
sheltered from the light

Yellow keys
unlock Spring’s secret;
freed from grey

Green hands reach upward
giving thanks to their golden
savior in the sky

I think it's great!  Often the smaller things in life don't get enough attention.  This poem makes me think about what it must be like to be a leaf, which is something that hadn't really occured to me before.  It's a beautiful little poem.

Thanks!

Thanks for the welcome, Ladaybug.   This is a great forum!  I'm so glad I stumbled onto it.  I've been reading all of the posts in here, and I am so impressed by everyone.

I hope that no one minds if I hang around. I only wish that I had more time so that I could write something to everyone.  But, I'll try to in due time.

Thank you, Ladybug.

Tepidlake, of course no one minds if you hang around (speaking for the group, of course, hee hee) -- seriously!  I, too, am impressed with PIP and so far (since June) have enjoyed myself and met some nice people.  Stick around!

Dear Ladybug,

This was a delight...a very well-written, simple poem about nature (a favorite subject of mine). I enjoyed.
