Written 5/12/96 -- ran into an old high school friend...
-----------

                       Thinking back,
                 the diamonds twinkling
                       in the distance
                           behind

                           Sparkle
                   dormant, but never
                  lost. Dulled with time,
                        polished with
                             sight

                           Used to
                          wear them
                       'round my neck,
                 dangling above my heart.
                       With my youth,
                         stashed away
                           inside the
                            jewelry
                             box...

                             until
                             now

Every new beginning comes from some other beginning's end...

I like the idea of youth stashed away in the jewelry box.
