Perfect, what does perfect bring?
Silent awe of a living thing?
Less than sterling fits the mold.
Beating heart to granite's cold.

Though sculpted hearts may lack the flaws,
their icy souls will never thaw.

written in 1990 when I was in 10th grade
still one of my favorite poems I've ever written, and the only one I have ever memorized!
