Our forefathers understood The value of prayer For a young nation emerging Gods’ blessing was needed there For direction and guidance They sought Divine favor That the freedom hard fought for Many generations could savor For our Founders rich faith Great blessings were rewarded A heritage of reverence Their examples have afforded Prayer’s no less important Than it was in their day For the future of our Nation We all ought to pray Pray to God and give thanks For His blessings and care May we humbly seek his favor On this National Day of Prayer 4-26-2001 (Thursday May 3rd, is the National Day of Prayer in the United States. Please pray for our nation, our leaders, and our families.) "Blessed is the nation whose GOD is the Lord..." Psalms 33:12 |
