Could Be Anywhere...

It’s Springtime!

Mama has an antique wheelbarrow
chained down just below our sippin porch
cast iron, rusted out, big ole steel wheel.
she has turned it into a metropolitan flowerbed
sowing handfuls of unknown, mystery seed.

Sunday morn, sippin coffee on the porch
the flowers all dancing in the Oklahoma breeze.
Bachelor buttons are the second highest
thin thistle-like cone tops whacking each other.
Shasta daisies are the skyscrapers of the crowd.

A foot or more high the daisies dance
while pure white petals flip and fold
doing a two-step ‘round big, yellow centers.
Swaying with abandon, petals flying
daisy dance is quite a sight!

Mama slips off the porch for a minute
she’s checkin her wall of roses.
Squeals with delight, “The buds are opening!”
We’ll have a wall of smell good before long
as the roses bloom in all their glory.

She has been a busy one this spring
a plantin and a fussin all over the place.
She’s even got veggies growing up on a table
taking this raised bed thing to new levels!
Yep,Mama has definitely got it going on this year!

Oh, I like this.  Mama will have to be active to keep up with everything she has growing in this fast moviing spring.  No time for sitting on the "sippin" porch.  Joyce

Sounds lovely

Don't ever give in, if you do you've lost everything you've ever had and everything you hope to gain, but if you carry on your already winning.
