The photographs I got today,
Show family members far away.
The children all have grown so.
There are a few that I don't know.
They were born when I was gone.
Now time has left it's mark upon
The older members of the clan.
I need to go home, if I can
Before it is too late to see
These people who are dear to me.

I've imaged them as just the same
As when I left.  These pictures came
And cause a sense of urgency.
Their days are running out on me.
One aunt looks very fragile now.
I'd like to sit and tell her how
Her kindness always banished woe.
When it was time for me to go,
She was the one I missed the most.
Here she is a virtual ghost!

The years have flown,  I don't know where.
I've not done much to show I care,
So I must hurry back to be
Within the realm of family.

Dear Betty.  I like this a lot.  Things change so fast and so furiously.  I was just writing a family reunion poem.  We are having one here at my place in July.  Guess I'll post it.  Joyce

Very nice. Family is the most important thing in life. Spending more time with them is something that you won't ever regret.

Bob:  Thanks for commenting.

Joyce:  I haven't read your latest poem yet, but I will.  We are having a family reunion at the Oregon Coast in June.  We'll have to compare notes later.

Panne:  This poem was written several years ago and I did go back to Edmonton, Alberta and see many of my family members.  It was a great reunion. It's a very large family now. Over 250 people.  We have to rent a hall to get together.
