Not too much time,
No. Not much now.
So now, we laugh at everything.
Everytime,
we hug goodbye,
we study eyes
in dirge's sing
and smile them into lullabyes.

This may be the last we touch--
this, this thing, we don't discuss.
This may be the last goodbye.
So let us laugh--Enough of Cry!
Let's just talk about the day...
"normal"-keep the 'strange' at bay.

I hate to shut the door behind -
reluctant twist of wrist in wind.
I hate to turn and lock the screen.
These days I hate most everything.
I do not want to be so strong.
I want home.
And home?
Is gone...

And every word I yearn to say,
abandons me- I whisper "hey"
My Dad--returning gaze to me,
sad eyes in apology,
I, in him,
and him in me...

and HE tells ME--to be strong.

Sad but very beautiful at the same time. I like the feeling it gives of being there, I can hear the screen door shut and latched and the sadness that permeates this poem is felt very strongly.

Tonight and all the future tonights when you need it, I cry with you. Goodbye can't be a good word if it makes us feel like this. You are in my prayers. And though we have never met, we are truly sisters......take care of yourself, S.I.S.

Joyce...yes, it's sad. I thank you for reading!

Songbird? thank you for your understanding...as sad as it is...we've the gift of goodbye. Sometimes that is not the case. I thank you as well.

Sharon. There are no words to ever thank you. I don't even know how to try. But someday, I do hope to hug you in gratitude,
for all that you've done and continue to do for me. You ARE my sister. I love you.
