Who loves this life, looks not on death as friend.
Living his days as there were more to come,
Blind to the truth, he can't forsee the end.

Recklessly thinking he has time to spend,
Wastes the good days ensnared by demon rum.
Who loves this life, looks not on death as friend.

Day after day in one another blend.
The wiles of drink has caused him to succumb.
Blind to the truth, he can't forsee the end.

So many good men can't their habit mend,
Though wake up call may come in time for some.
Who loves this life, looks not on death as friend.

His friends may beg, he's too good at pretend,
He walks now only to his lover's drum.
Blind to the truth, he can't forsee the end.

His talents gone, he struggles in bedlam,
Nor notes the slowing of the pendulum.
Who loves this life, looks not on death as friend.
Blind to the truth, he can't forsee the end.

Very nicely done!  This looks like a tough form to master (haven't had the courage to try it myself). You get an A (or AA?) for this one in my book!

Difficult form the pantoum (I think that's right?), you did this nicely. And I can only say "Amen" to your message.
Thanks, Joyce.

I raise my glass of decaf to that.  Excellent writing with a fine message... know a few people this would be lost upon... if you know what I mean?  Peace!
