The moonlight sifting through the leaves
in the apple orchard, weaves,
patterns made of dark and light,
that decorate the summer night.
In the meadows silvered space,
Moon-mad horses wheel and race.
The lake is like a sheet of glass.
Now and then, small ripples pass
across it's surface and I know
that silver fish must swim below.
All night long the spell remains.
Night birds sing their sweet refrains.
Till finally, with fickle sighs,
The wanton moon deserts the skies.

The average person sees only moonlight.  You see all of this.  A true poet.  Joyce

The sun has golden glory bright,
So our beloved moon it seems,
Silver guardian of the night,
Must cast his spells,
Across our dreams.

Good images, Joyce.
Thanks.

Such a detailed painting you painted, kind of like You Are There, feeling and experiencing it with you.

You write very visually. I am impressed, because that is not my strong point. It does indeed seem to be a "you are there" experience.

Maree:  Thank you again for making such nice comments.  I have seen horses run madly sometimes on a moonlight night and thought I'd put that in a poem sometime.
