These grand old Contessa's
cascades of songs, sing
of ancient tales of old.
Flights of fantasms,
high they spiral of grand
profusions of new promises
and old, bygone vowels,
where lovers have met,
and loved a lifetime.

So they flow, ever dancing
their glorious ancient dance
of miriad tales yet untold,
and loves yet to begin.
Ever flowing an orchestration
of instrumental beauty.
Long remembered melodies
of mighty conquests,
and lost defeats.
They live on!

A friend hears the song in my heart, and sings it to me when my memory fails.

I feel like I am there...   lovely piece

the woods are lovely, dark, and deep, but I have promises to keep, and many miles to go before I sleep...Frost

Lovely, Ellie! I've seen them in pictures, but this brings them to life even better - you've combined their music and history in a meaningful flow!

Ellie, this is really different for you, and I like it. I'd be interested in knowing what inspired it.  Have you been there?  Or maybe listened to Respighi's music?  Whatever it was, you have written in a way that makes me wish I could go see for myself.
