There is a song in my heart
that changes constantly,

like the seasons turning,
the notes are ever new,

from somber chamber music
in the dark before the dawn,

to gentle lilting scales
in the early morning sun,

the piper’s wail on misty hills
in the depth of love’s despair,

spirituals in soulful harmony
renew my quiet faith in man,

the crash of classical overture
reveals the horror of strife,

an endless aria in the mind,
the great hall of melody,

each day is a page turned
on the sheet music of life,

what song will tomorrow bring,
only the great musician knows,

I must wait for the instruments
to be tuned, the crowd to hush,

the maestro to raise the baton,
and the concert to begin anew.

the woods are lovely, dark, and deep, but I have promises to keep, and many miles to go before I sleep...Frost

Life is a song ... I'll agree with you there, nice work

ah, how sweet and lovely your words are, just what I need to calm my raging mind.

Maestro of poetry, this is simply exquisite!

A friend hears the song in my heart, and sings it to me when my memory fails.

The imagery flows like music in this one.  Great!

Beautiful, Pegasus.  I found myself listening to each new kind of music as I read, and saying "Yes, that is right."  Well done!

Pegasus~
This is a captivating piece.

I particularly enjoyed this -

'the piper’s wail on misty hills
in the depth of love’s despair'

Quite the imagery !

Ah, yes. How grand to not know what tomorrow will bring.

Life is indeed a song, and this one is quite simply beautiful.  Enjoyed the read.
