Soaring to outer limits

Spreading wings in careless joy

Daring the wind

Fleeing all emotions left behind

Taking risks

Enjoying time as it flies by

Not looking back

Living dreams

In the wake

Hearts are broken

Feelings left tattered

As I soar higher

Coming down to earth

Longing for what was lost

On my journey

Of self discovery

As the flight of fancy

Was for me alone

Yet the need to share

Was overwhelming

I went alone

Soared then plummeted

Selfishness staggering my landing

For I was blinded

Wingless now

I take my penance

Lonely from the thoughtlessness

As I begin my earthly journey

Sounds like a flight we all have to journey on, on the way to realizing who we are and what we were meant to be. Nice read.

Sometimes you have to take care of yourself and grow before you can take care and love another. Beautiful poem! Ellie

A friend hears the song in my heart, and sings it to me when my memory fails.

Very nice
