Blazing fire warms deep winter’s chill,
the lady sits, eyes closed, quite still,
while shadows dance on darkened wall,
logs crackling sounds throughout the hall,

the flakes fall soundlessly without,
the howling wind an angry shout,
windows shuttered before the gale,
rattle and grate a mournful tale,

a twisted tale, and not so new,
befell this lonely lady who,
serenely dressed in blue this night,
lost true love of faithful knight,

in battle struck a fatal blow,
red stains upon the pure white snow,
blue silk tied snug upon his wrist,
cold snowflakes his still face do kiss,

she feels the chill and softly moans,
the pain drives deep to aching bones,
his memory a searing flame,
a faceless enemy to blame,

weep softly now my lady blue,
for one who can’t return to you,
the nights record the brutal plight,
of lady blue who lost her knight.

the woods are lovely, dark, and deep, but I have promises to keep, and many miles to go before I sleep...Frost

This is a wonderful poem.  Its constructed with a grace and composure befiting the lady of blue.

every day is a new day with which we can change the world

Oh, you are truly a master of poetic storytelling!  soooo vivid!  Ellie

A friend hears the song in my heart, and sings it to me when my memory fails.

I do like this style and you tell the story so well.

You write so vividly, Pegasus!  I am quite impressed.  And I shed a tear for the lady.
