Thank you Dennis for co-writing this piece with me.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
To Have a Friend
Random acts of kindness,
Are never wasted,
You'll know it yourself,
When kindness you've tasted.
Sweet as the sun,
In natures full light,
Savor each sip,
Fulfillments of life.
Our path illuminated,
Shadows held at bay,
With the sun on our face,
Warmth fills our day.
Guided by hearts
But one desire,
To feed the fuel,
Burning desire.
The loves we seek,
Come from within,
Free of your mind,
Share with your friends.
Friends are our anchor,
They steady our lives,
Keep us on course,
What e'er arise.
Sturdy as anchors,
At the bottom of seas,
Sturdy as the tallest,
Solid of trees.
Growing and winding,
Reaching for the sky,
A friendship is fueled,
By caring inside.
To have a friend,
We must be one first,
A watering place,
For those that do thirst.
I offer to you,
A place to drink,
And if you need,
A stool to think.
Another framed,
Point of view,
All I can offer
Is friendship to you.
Dear Dennis and Kevin; Wow! You guys have been inspired by the Queen of the poetic muses! This is a most beautiful poem of friendship. The real beauty here is that two good friends wrote it from their hearts. Love, Ellie
A friend hears the song in my heart, and sings it to me when my memory fails.
Nicely joined together thoughts, sometimes I think I write the best when I'm bouncing off of someone.  Know I have gotten a lot of good pieces that way.
*Stood in awe*
Life has got to chnage,
Nothing stays the same,
Soon it will be time,
For me to move on.
