Well, I thought I lost the Muse. I was out with a bad case of writer's block for eight months, but now it's slowly coming back. Hello to all my old friends and to all you new ones.

~~~~~
"Finding the Muse"
Where earth meets sky toward eagles flight,
And Aspen shimmer in golden light;
From where a mountain river runs,
There you’ll find me under timbers from
A mighty oak, who’s boughs do make
A refuge, safe, from winds that shake.
For, like the river, from glaciers, flowed,
Sometimes my thoughts run icy-cold.
Cold, I retreat to my secret, quiet place
Where I find solace in its warm embrace.
Then, melt away my fear and doubt
To let the Muse dance all about.
When heard their music in the leaves
That rustle softly in silent breeze,
I felt the warmth of Summer’s breath
That woke this poet from a Winter’s death.
~Gene
U_Gene,
I'd say you definately got your muse back. This is the first time I've had the pleasure of reading your poetry but I know it wont be the last. Welcome back and it is nice to meet you.
U_gene; I think that perhaps you have been awakened by a multitude of muses! This poem is exquisite! I'm glad you are back here at the pub, and I look forward to your next poem as well. Ellie
Hi Gene,
I'm glad that you have been awakened by the "music" of your muse!  Thanks for sharing your "secret place" but I'm happy you've come in from the cold to share the "warmth" of your words!
Very beautiful, welcome back!
Hey, thanks everyone. I really appreciate the welcome back. It's gotten a little crowded since i was here. I hope I can keep up with all that's going on in the Pub now. So if I don't always make my self visible, I just want you to know that I am reading everything and enjoying it. What a great bunch of poetry there is going on here.
It's great to see so many old friends still here and all the new ones.
It's nice to meet you, and to read you.  It seems that the muse definitely is with you now.   I'm glad you came back.
Good to see you again. I only got a chance to get to know you briefly before I left, but now I'm looking forward to a longer stay.
Congratulations on breaking that block and welcome back...It'll be good to see new things from you.
With a little piece of tomorrow,
You'll have to kiss yesterday goodbye.
Because today won't last forever,
And the past will only make you cry.
Gene,
I'd say! It must feel good to breathe again and not be burried in that dirt.
Your words have spoken.
My favorite lines...
"When heard their music in the leaves
That rustle softly in silent breeze,
I felt the warmth of Summer’s breath
That woke this poet from a Winter’s death."
