Thank you to all who responded. Jerry was a 38 years young firefighter who died at home of a massive heart attack. There is, indeed, not much to be said about this poem. It struck me as I listen to the dispatch how much it sounded like a poem. I post it to honor Jerry. I hope it is a LONG time before I hear another dispatch like this.
