To personify the pen,
To give it a life and a will of its own.
I would give it up,
Let the ink of its blood
Spill on a page of its own accord
And no mor efollow my crude designs.
To let the pen
Choose whether to share with the world
Or remain capped and silent.
No more manic fits
In the dim lamplight
While the world slumbers.
No hand guiding its actions -
Free will would dictate my pen's strokes.
To personify the pen,
To grant it the boon and bane of existence.

hmmm...interesting concept..I, personally would be lost without the pen..It defines me as an individual..Put it away?..that is a very scary thought for me..

the woods are lovely, dark, and deep, but I have promises to keep, and many miles to go before I sleep...Frost

Yeah, I'd be pretty lost without my own pen...I'd probably also have passed out by now, because I'd be trying to scratch out my poems with blood.

I couldn't agree with you both about being lost without the pen......but the concept was great. I enjoyed this poem immensely.

but it's attatched to my finger and is now a permanent appendage! Loved this poem! Ellie
