Disappointment and doubt encumbered me
When a man with true charm was met
His humor and wit has made me see,
That time can soothe regret . . .

He walks with a tall and sturdy gate,
the fleetness of foot is apparent
A lover of life, he cares not of fate,
And question him of this, I daren't . . .

Freedom and fancy is what he seeks
Music plays his emotions precise
From a guitar, mystic melodie leaks,
His passion in song does entice . . .

So wise beyond his timid cloak
Of sarcasm and buffoonery
When his eyes do twinkle while telling a joke
I can't help but be merry . . .

Whatever the pains of his past
He does not dwell upon them
Sorrow never seems to last
Which makes him the rarest jem . . .

I await my cowardess to part
And tell him how much he's treasured
But my bashful self can never start,
I'm afraid merit can't be measured . . .

Yes, our paths did cross quite mystically,
Yet, of this, I do rejoice
Though I travel through life unsteadily
He has given my heart a voice . . .

Actually, I wrote this one a few years ago about a man who had stolen my heart.  A little update, he proposed to me this past Thanksgiving and we are due to be wed in May 2001.  Funny how a little poem saw it all two years ago...

Hope you enjoy!  --Jamie

pegasus:  Thank you...   It made me smile too when he proposed!

bestgirl:  Thank you for the Congrats...two years is a lot of waiting.  All I have to say is, I guess patience is a virtue (although I still hate the waiting part)!

Wonderfully expressed and I love the last line "he has given my heart a voice."  Congratulations on finding the "knight of (your) heart"
