This is my first post here, I hope you like it...

Brought Up A Man

Sitting here at work atop this big CAT –“D”
Thinking of you, what you mean to me
Tearing the ground to push it around
Pondering you, and the love that I’ve found.

How can a man say the words that I feel
How can a man say how your make my life real.
How can a man say those soft prissy things
How can a man say how you make his heart sing.

I really don’t know the words I should say
Oh how I can find, yes to find me a way.
How hard it’s to share, when you grow up a man
To tell you those things so you’ll understand.

It’s not the things I was taught how to say
I just don’t know, it’s just not my way
To share from my soul, and from my heart
To share what I feel when we're apart.

I hope you can see when you look in my eye
The softness I feel, that these rough hands belie
I hope you will know, when I’m holding you tight
The joy that you bring, and all the delight.

Oh, that I had the words, to say how I care
That I had the words, love that I could share
I guess that I’ll do the best that I can
Sometimes it is hard being brought up a man.

WELCOME! Thunder; You just did say it all, and magnificently too! When you hand her this poem she will be delighted. I am looking forward to more of your poetry here. Ellie

This is beautiful...you express your feelings perfectly.  I am raising my own 'little' man & I hope that as he gets older he will be able to express his feelings this well.

Welcome to Passions, Thunder.  You seem to me to be an extremely articulate man.    This is very well done.  It reminds me of something similar I wrote to someone I love, only I am not a man.

Thunder,
First, Welcome to Passions and to the Corner Pub. Your poem about how a man can express his love and feelings for that special preson who makes his life meaningful is well written and thoughtful. Pull up a chair, have a drink and do tell us more!

welcome to passions! you picked a wonderful place to sit a spell

i guess its hard sometimes to express your feelings, as so many men are taught that they shouldnt show their feelings..and i think thats sad..    but youve done a fine job with this one, expressing the love for your significant other

keep writing! hugs, g
