Not a magic wand
But a brightly shining star -
A Savior is born.

Not a golden crown
But reflection of God's light
Come to visit earth.

Not cast-off bathrobes
But coats for Judah's shepherds
Soon to be the flock.

Not brightly wrapped gifts
But symbols of God, King, and
Sacrificial death.

Not childish voices
But angels from heaven sing
Glory allelu.

Not a great palace
But a manger where beasts dine
Cradles the true King.

Not with strong armies
But gentle humility
God sends His own Son.

Wonderful read.......a good topic to have in a poem. I enjoyed this greatly!

Marilyn; These are exquisite expressions of the true meaning of Christmas...beautiful gems of praise and adoration. Ellie

Dopey - Thank you yet again.    This was inspired by seeing kids in the hall at church in costumes, preparing for the program they will present today.

Ellie - Thank you.  You are always so sweet!   This is indeed what Christmas is all about, isnt it?

kcg,

Beautifully written.  Perfect for the season.
