Whatever your views may be
Of Al Gore's polictical stance,
He showed Bigness and Humor and Heart
Under difficult circumstance!

His campaign had been hard fought
A fight to the finish, for sure,
But when all his options had failed
He yielded with great grandeur!

Dissapointment was present, no doubt
But the bitterness, he did forsake,
In interest of the Greater Cause
And for our Great nation's sake.

Our differences have been made clear
And divided we may be in our views,
But as one, must our nation go on
As a peaceful wise chance, it persues.

Now with a new President-Elect
May we put rancor and party aside,
To the healing of our nation
In one we can love and show pride.

Our thanks to a gracious Al Gore
Who stands just as tall in defeat,
As an honored, devoted true Statesman
Who with dignity, his race did complete.

To put together words & rhyme--and touch a life--is so sublime! Thank God for such precious contact! (D.L.White)

David,

Well said, my friend.

This is a graciously written tribute to that gracious exit.  No matter how we wanted it to turn out, it is time for healing, sort of like our own lives on a different scale, eh? Thanks for this reminder.
