Oh lovely flower, wild and free,
have you fled and abandoned me?

windswept plains do chill the bone,
this poet grieves for you alone,

soon winter comes to stalk the land,
white blankets fall at his command,

your dormant seed in darkest sleep,
strong winter coat the life does keep,

until soft rains your limbs unfold,
your gentle face these eyes behold,

the beauty of my love’s repose,
sweeter than the garden rose,

I wait in silence for that time,
oh sweetest object of my rhyme.

the woods are lovely, dark, and deep, but I have promises to keep, and many miles to go before I sleep...Frost

Each couplet a glorious gem. Your analogies are superb. I enjoyed reading this more than once. You are truly a gifted poet! Ellie

Happy wildflower to be the object of such a rhyme!  This is extremely well done.

Hi Pegasus

A very beautiful poem indeed, flowed so beautifully

especially loved this.....

Oh my dear fickle poet friend
how your mind does whirl and spend.

When two steps back I read your read
how then you called this flower a weed.

Love and hate conveying ambigious needs
which one yeilds to those your needs?
