Tired of trying and ready for fun... When I lay my pen down, the game will be done. You pretended to listen while acting to care, That's all blown away with the chilly night air. Your hugs were like heaven when you whispered my name... All that has changed now, nothings the same. Your silence speaks volumes with words you'll not say... I'm sorry our "fling" had to end in this way. Forgive me for taking a cowards way out... Refusal to meet made me take this d*** route. I told you what happened on the nights of our plays... We argued a little, I was left feeling dazed. I followed my thoughts and let some time pass... Called to learn conversations can end very fast. I know that you're busy and working a lot... You just needed more time, least that's what I thought. But talking with others, seeing truth in their eyes... I know that it's over as they edit their replies. I'll step off the game-board and make my last move... Honestly speaking, I've nothing left to lose. Tongue in cheek, I'll finish this rhyme... For my final words to be written, now is the time... *Hugs and kisses*...best wishes sent your way... Check-mate. Games over. That's all I have to say. With a little piece of tomorrow, You'll have to kiss yesterday goodbye. Because today won't last forever, And the past will only make you cry. |

It happens to all of us, life still goes on, I must have lost a dozen "loves of my life" before I found the right one, she has been the right one for 42 years now, see, there is hope. I wish I had been able to write like that, then..... |
