To Touch a Dream

Deep in farthest reaches of the spirit lies a dream
Not wakened yet by moonlit sands or stars mysterious beam
It’s in the mind’s unconscious thought, an undiscovered toy
It lives within a heartbeat that has yet to skip with joy

Not til the spirit opens up to sun’s most piercing rays
Can lovely dreams be carved and formed of life’s unmolded clays
The beauty of a dream is wrought by love and love returned
It waits in silent thought unthought, a page yet to be turned

But once unveiled, the vision stays forever in the heart
And never from the wanting eye will splendid dreams depart
To have and hold and touch a dream is joy within itself
For fantasy brings inspiration’s pocket full of wealth

From inspiration comes the words to write a poem like this
A poem can touch somebody’s heart, though born of just a wish

Oh Elizabeth, this is really beautiful dear

and how true is this.....

From inspiration comes the words to write a poem like this
A poem can touch somebody’s heart, though born of just a wish

"a page yet to be turned" That is kind of how I look at dreams, great work as always Elizabeth!

this certainly touched my heart, Elizabeth..nicely done.

the woods are lovely, dark, and deep, but I have promises to keep, and many miles to go before I sleep...Frost

Just how a poet wishes to touch someone with their words....you expressed it wonderfully.

These are my favorite lines, but I really like all of this beautifully written poem. I am adding it to my library.

Liz; Beautiful, flowing and unfolding to the dream you write of, capturing the reader and entwining reader and poet in this dream of a poem.  Love, Ellie

Life has got to chnage,

For me to move on.
