Tip-toe quietly through the lumber
Through the trees where giants slumber
Wake not the little birds nor mice
Who help keep these woods full of life
Careful not to muss the bed
Of fallen leaves on which you tread
Leave resting on all the leaves
The dew-drops that squirrels drink
Carefully, so no small twigs break
Up over the hill and behold the lake
Mist rising silent as the dawn
Through it all, there swims a swan
White neck arching gracefully
A perfect picture of serenity
Night time fading with purple hues
Rainbow of color gives the swan its dues
Sun seems to sigh as higher it goes
Stretching into day, still the swan floats
Then the woods start to wake
It's time to leave the lovely lake
Hurrying back to home, work to start
What a wonderful way to strengthen the heart.

With a little piece of tomorrow,
You'll have to kiss yesterday goodbye.
Because today won't last forever,
And the past will only make you cry.

ahhh, yes..a return to nature is a welcome respite from the rigors of everyday routine.it rejuvinates the soul..well done angel.

the woods are lovely, dark, and deep, but I have promises to keep, and many miles to go before I sleep...Frost

BWA, I enjoyed watching the swan with you.  What a peaceful way to start your day!

Oh my ... this is just so soft and lovely.
What a beautiful penning.
Such serenity ... I was taken there.
