..Ok..I will start puttin the "serious" poems out after this one....*L*

Sol

" Its poker night at Sasquatch's"
The Easter Bunny said to me...
" Cept we're meetin at the Tooth Fairy's,
Cause Squatch's cat has got the fleas!"

So I packed me up some munchies
choc covered pretzels, and veggies
a case of caff-free Mt.Dew
and all the change that I could see.

I usually break even
when I play mythology
but on the rare occasion
all the change goes home with me.

Rabbit, Squatch and Dental Fae,
and a new face did I see,
her eyes her lips and shrouded hips
took my breath, a bit, from me.

'Its a pleasure to meet you '
said I with outward hand,
" Just call me Queenie, just for now."
she said and shook my hand.

Round the green felt went the cards
dimes, nickels, and pennies
and every time I looked up
Queenie's smile did I see

The Rabbit he was in the hole,
Bigfoot scratching at some fleas
T.F. trading crowns for change
The Queen, broke even, just like me.

But now my cards were changing
as the face cards I did see
The Ace, the King, the Jack and Ten
of the suits of Hearts I see

" How many You?" called the Rabbit.
" Just one for me is fine."
"As long as its the right One"
said Queenie and uped the pot a dime.

I met her winsome gaze
and folded then and there
she gathered up the kitty
having won with just a pair.

It was 3 am and I was tired
so was the Dental Fae
Squatch just lay there snoring
Rabbit in the hole to stay.

I walked Queenie to the door.
waved g'bye to all asleep
and strolling down to my car
with Queenie I did speak.

" Thanks for playing, it was fun
I'm really glad you came."
'So am I hun, truely
it's quite a thrilling game.'

We were standing by my car
" Um...are you riding home with me?"
She smiled and then she hopped inside
just as cozy as could be.

I sat down. Buckled in
and she put a finger to my lips...

" Well....I am the One you want...
the Queen of Hearts and poker chips..."

I thought this was the cutest! I loved it! A very creative poem! Keep them rolling in...... i like your "not serious" poems.

Yo Solstice... Nothing like drawing into a straight flush, royal... and with nothing less than the Queen.  I'd say your's is a winning hand and so is your poem.  Thanks for the read... enjoyed the fun.  Peace!
