Dawn arrives
and it's just you and I
cuddled up in this armchair
rocking away the ending of night
as the sky slowly lightens
so gradually
and even you pause in your fussing
and turn your head slightly
to watch
your little hand unconsciously clutches my nightgown
and I pull you a little closer
as you watch your first sunrise
and the clock ticks softly
and the shadows slowly fade
and morning says hello

so warm and sweet  would make a lovely verse in a card (now don't take that the wrong way, I am so picky on cards today that  say so little..this one  would warm a heart, light a face with a smile, or bring a tear to wet a cheek.)
in other words, I  loved it.
