...this one...is always for Rebecca... one day while trying to remember the notes to the love theme from Braveheart...I came up with this...a little love dirge... Sol  let me tell you of my sweetheart her crimson hair, like campfire light a million stars burn in her brown eyes flashing deep, eternal night we did meet in the autumn when the leaves are red and gold we fell in love upon first looking a miracle, so I am told when I wander through dark shadows or I get lost in doubt filled night her heart flares up a raging bonfire casting hope, on paths of right and I shall make like her a statue tall and proud and shining white and there upon a golden placard these gilded words my hands shall write "You are more to me than body more than breath and more than life for you are the very heart of me flame of my soul...burning bright" when she's gone up to God's heaven then she'll bow down before God's throne the only man who ever loved her more and that is God, and God alone for to Him, she's more than body more than breath and more than life for He knows, she is the heart of me flame of my soul,....burning bright.. now I've told you...of my sweetheart..... |

* blushes and smiles* oddly enough...I was reluctant to tell her this when I first wrote it....i would sing it to myself over and over while i was at work...but never to her...*L* mostly because I cannot stand my singing voice..then after sharing it with a dear friend...who admonished me harshly to tell it all to Becky..i quietly sang it on valentines day night..snuggled up in bed...she cried..something she rarely does...yes..i am the romantic...*L* but then...aren't we all???...even when the ones we love are not.. Oh My-My Sol, This may be the most beautiful love poem I have ever read.. It is precious ~ romantic seems to deminish it's value to me~~Very, very special, as is your lady. Just Beautiful. |
