Love is like a candle
slim and fragile
flickering in the night wind
bending, turning in the shifting breeze
melting the soft wax of time
spilling downward in warm rivlets
hardening into cool reality

This tiny flame
struggling to survive
emits a dancing glow
of soft luminescence
darting into the dim corners
of the unknown
retreating, advancing, laboring
in the quest for truth

Threatened perpetually with extinction
by the gale of prevarication
the squall of intolerance
the gust of indifference
it prevails
and offers hope
against the darkness

Beautiful analogy Pegasus...

"Threatened perpetually with extinction
by the gale of prevarication
the squall of intolerance
the gust of indifference
it prevails
and offers hope
against the darkness"

Love it....Bonnie

Pegasus; The analogy of a candle flame to the enduring fragility of love that is a light in the darkness of the loneliness of the world, is exqisite. Ellie

This is really nice Peg........candles are so emotive yet capable in fire of total destruction....on the other hand they are fragile too..Lovely
