The way the sun lightened
Streaks in his hair
And the way I could always
Count on him being there

The way I was lost
In hopeless devotion
And the way we walked
Hand-in-hand by the ocean

The way he carressed me
With caution and care
And the way he never
Refused a dare

The way he laughed
At all of my jokes
And the way he was always
Polite with my folks

The way he wasn't sentimental
It wasn't often that he cried
And the he carefully chose the flowers
When his grandmother died

The way he always
Hid behind a mask
And the way he always did
Whatever I'd ask

The way he made me
Breakfast in bed
And the way he deceived me
Like a bullet of lead

The way he hurt me
On a warm summer night
And the way he never looked back
During his flight

The way he found himself
While I was still lost
And the way he was prepared
To hurt me at any cost

The way he quickly accepted
That it was through
And the way I cried when
I realized it was true

The way he declared that
He didn't love me
And the way he smiled
When he said he needed to be free

The way he looked at me
Just didn't seem fair
And the way he left
When I could only stare

The way I loved him
Of my life he was part
And the way he left me
And never gave back my heart

if you love someone, tell them. you never know what may happen tomorrow!

Alicia; So sad a love story, but hearts heal and love will blossom once again. Lovely poem, written so well. Ellie

I agree with Ellie, things will heal... but I also understand that it sure doesn't feel that way while you're going through it. Well executed poem!

ahhh..I have been there..you will scar but, the wound will heal.

the woods are lovely, dark, and deep, but I have promises to keep, and many miles to go before I sleep...Frost

I started out liking this 'guy' but by the end, I wanted to smack him! You will survive..and I hope you find someone who doesn't become like the guy at the end..

Ellie~
Love is the one thing that can preoccupy all of the world for hours.  Thanx for the encouragement.
Christopher~
There are very few people who realize that.  I'm glad someone understands me!
Pegasus~
I don't think I'll scar this time.  Just a lot of blood loss.
Poet~
You have my permission to smack him.  Anytime!

It is such a sad love story, but to repeat again, time will heal, and love always finds a way. Sometimes you don't need to search, it will find you.
