Symbiosis

It is so beautiful,
This place you live,
Set in woods, water and hill,
Filled with bird song and
More stars than I thought existed!
How could anyone not love it?
Yet, when asked what I think,
I cannot separate it
From what I think of you,
For in my eyes
You and the place are one,
And I cannot love the one
Without loving the other.
Do you know this when you ask?
Or is it simply the question
Of an eager child
Seeking confirmation
Of the worth of his possessions?
Surely you know that the place
Permeates every part of you,
But do you also know
That without you it is just a place -
Lovely, yes, but not unlike
A thousand other places?
And do you realize
When I say it is wonderful
That I am really saying
You are wonderful, too?

Dear Marilyn; ...and do you know that without your heart in this beautiful poem, it's just another poem? Love, Ellie

Summers haunting melody
that awakens
the butterflies,
calling them to join
the dance
in their silent song
of praise to God.

Thanks, Ellie.  My heart really was in it.  This was my "In Her Dreams" man, but now I've moved on.  Thank you for your always kind comments.

Thanks, Marge.  This really came quite easily to me, because he lives in what must be one of the most beautiful places on earth, and the place and he truly are part of one another.  I'm glad you liked it.

Thanks, Vicky.  I think I mentioned this one to you recently.  Glad you like it.   Hope you get to see the place some day.
