                    Choral Society

Hands raised, he starts to play
A mighty organ, and I am one stop.
Sounds rise and fall at his bidding.
Self is transcended.  We are one voice.
I am lost in music,
Awed to be a tiny part
Of this marvelous instrument
And the song it brings forth.
We are an angel choir
Singing ageless praises
In a preview of heaven.
Gloria in excelsis Deo!

Thank you, Debbie.  I was trying to explain how it felt to a nonmusical friend.

Oh Yes, the magic of music!  I lived without it for a number of years but am so glad I found it again.  Nicely said!

Thank you, Helen. It is hard for me to imagine life without music.  I'm glad you've found it again.

Cute, Jon.  Pretty up and down indeed, especially when the conductor asks us to stand to sing.

Think you did a fine job of it, I got a feel for it myself...it must be as hard as a poet trying to explain the joy we get from our words to a non-writing person...

Thanks, Lady.  I think that's probably true, although I hadn't thought about it.  Maybe that's because my friend IS a poet.
