My September song was Spring, life waiting to be born,
hope eternal in my breast greeting each new morn,
but in the month October, no clouds to darken days,
I see all the beauty nature sent my way.

Not in trees, heaven’s blue or flowers out to bloom
but in a heart old as time weaved within life’s loom
which criss-crossed paths of loneliness, sadness in the night,
and welcomed laughter, happy times, deep in an inner light.

The heat of passion covers me like dew on grass of green
which shines with a longing for many years not seen
and as the summer of this life takes hold, comes alive,
I see future eyes of blue turn upward with desire.

Wishes like the birds above soar freely in the skies
as winds like determined steps sift through living’s lies
and in the twilight time, life breathing not yet done,
past and future lives join into heart of one.

Inner glory, beauty’s light, believe it if you might,
stirs aflame past regrets deep in the dark of night
but in the day of new eye sight sun sends it’s healing rays
soothing and comforting with love that always stays.

Summer, summer, summer, a time of endless wealth,
settles in a heart of blue with nature’s silent stealth
and as it changes blue to red, outlined with sparkling gold
no rain, thunder, lightening will ever make it old.

Helen; Exquisite poem, this went staight to my heart, the feel of youth and summer and a deep longing, so beautifully poetic, Wonderful! Ellie

Summers haunting melody
that awakens
the butterflies,
calling them to join
the dance
in their silent song
of praise to God.

This is both very pretty and very hopeful for those of us who are not so young any more.   Thanks!

Thank you, Denise and Marilyn, for your responses.  I just have to write what I feel or else "go mad" and it's so gratifying when someone enjoys.

Thank you, Jon.  Oh, it would be a glorious summer if that could really happen but I dream nevertheless.
