For S

I sought the gentle breeze today
But found the wind was cold.
September's chill had changed the greens
To orange, red and gold.

And as I very often do,
I felt that you were there.
I knew your desolation, and
I hoped you know I care.

The scattered drops of rain that fell
From dark and cloudy skies
Washed over me as tears that came
From your dear saddened eyes.

I wanted to reach out to you,
To say it was okay
To let them fall.  I'm not so sweet -
I will not melt away.

I know your skies are cloudy now,
But hope you know it's true
That you can always lean on me
The way I lean on you.

And when the clouds have blown away
And skies no more are gray,
You'll know our hearts are intertwined
And shall forever stay.

KCS~
This is just a marvelous read out loud poem.
The rhyming simply flows.
Very pretty.

Wow!  Thanks for all the nice comments!

Marge - Thanks.  I hadn't thought of it as a read out loud poem, although I did originally think in terms of a song.  I'm pleased you liked it, as I like so much of your work.

Maria, Denise, Vicky - Thank you for your kind words from people whose work I also respect.

dg - Yes, he has read it.     I guess the reference was a little more transparent than I thought. Glad he blew us both here.  Hugs!

That's okay, dg. I knew he had sent you here before I posted this, should have known you would have a clue.  Hugs.

Hmm...I really like this.  It brings up memories of friends that are no longer here.  And some that are farther away then either of us would like.     Thankyou for sharing it.

With a little piece of tomorrow,
You'll have to kiss yesterday goodbye.
Because today won't last forever,
And the past will only make you cry.

Thanks, Angel.  It's true a lot of people we care about are far away, but isn't it nice that we can feel that caring across the miles?

What lovely thoughts to a friend...once again I am reminder that how lucky we (writers) are to be able to express our deepest emotions and to be able to send them out to the ones we care for.  This is so caring and full of compassion that it made me feel good.  Thanks for this lovely read.

Thank you, Lady.  Yes, we are lucky to be able to write what's deep inside this way.  I for one would never know how to say these things in prose.  And if this is filled with caring and compassion, it's because I care very much for the person I wrote it for.  That's the only way I know how to write, out of what's in my own heart, or at least on my mind at any given moment.     Thanks for your kind comments.

i don't know why, but this one made me cry.
Sooo beauiful
