                 Hidden Passion

You speak of hidden passion,
And I feel your desire to see all,
But I, who love words, have none
To express what I feel so deeply.
No more can I tell you
Than I can tell the sun
That I cannot live without it,
Yet, it is so.
If you would see
What I feel for you, see this:
See my eagerness to know
Every aspect of you,
Not only your body,
But your mind, your soul,
Your likes and dislikes,
Your past, your present and your future,
Your hopes and dreams,
Everything there is
Or has been about you.
I want to see, hear,
Smell, taste and touch
Everything that is you.
In this, feel my passion
And know you are loved.

Thank you, Denise.  Perhaps it was just not the words he wanted to hear when he wanted to hear them.

Thanks, Sol and Jon.  I almost did what Jon did, and pulled this off.  I'm glad you liked it.   Sorry I can't live up to your Gramma's standards, Sol, but my KC is only 4 and a little young for poker yet.  Thanks for your kind words, both of you.

Thanks, Chanson.  I was working really hard to convince this guy there was more going on than he could see.  (Think it worked, too.   )  The things we do for love!

Very well and eloquently expressed!  Romance is reborn.  It makes me think of the very first poem I wrote to a girl (which was my first poem actually).  I wrote it and never gave it to her.  Several years later I picked it up out of a drawer or a shoebox and read it, and thought "Hey this isn't bad".  It was the very poem that inspired me to write poetry on a continual basis.  (No,  She and I never permanently worked out, but I am now happily married to a wonderful wife whom I write poetry to).

These were the lines:

I take your hand.  Across the land
we shall journey endless fields.
We will laugh and run in the golden sun.
Love waits to be revealed.
Black velvet nights and brilliant days,
the sky a wonderous blue,
and many the gifts of nature my dear
for me to share with you!

(kinda corny but not bad for my first!)

Anyway, thanks for your sharing your talent.

Thanks for your comments, Deb and Stephanos, and thanks, Stephanos for sharing that first poem.  Not bad for a first effort!   I've waited almost half a century before finding someone who writes poetry to me, and I love it!
